Todo lo que sab\u00edamos de ella es que fue encontrada en un s\u00f3tano en las Islas Canarias, pero no ten\u00edamos informaci\u00f3n sobre su origen o su fabricante. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><p>Empezamos buscando en viejos espec\u00edmenes de tipos, y llegamos hasta una familia llamada Concave, un tipo victoriano lanzado en 1889 por la fundici\u00f3n <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circuitousroot.com\/artifice\/letters\/press\/noncomptype\/typography\/marder-luse\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marder, Luse &amp; Co<\/a>. Todos los fabricantes de tipos compitieron en espectacularidad, siendo el especimen de 1874 de <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbia.edu\/cu\/lweb\/digital\/collections\/cul\/texts\/ldpd_10147342_000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">William H. Page<\/a><\/i> un ejemplo del estilo opulento de la \u00e9poca. <\/p><p>Los tipos crom\u00e1ticos se imprimen con varios juegos de letras, cada uno con una tinta diferente que se aplica en varias pasadas por la m\u00e1quina. Estos tipos se dise\u00f1aban para encajar perfectamente, imprimiendo peque\u00f1as partes de la letra e incluso creando colores extra por superposici\u00f3n de tintas. <\/p><p>En el mundo digital usamos un m\u00e9todo parecido. Hay varias capas, unas dise\u00f1adas para estar al fondo (sombras, 3D, etc.) y otras pensadas para ir encima (brillos, biseles, etc). <\/p><p>La colocaci\u00f3n, o registro, de cada capa es mucho m\u00e1s sencillo que en la imprenta tipogr\u00e1fica: simplemente copiando y pegando el texto en el mismo lugar y cambiando estilo y color.
